Lake Murray Home Used as Meth Lab

Lexington County investigators arrested four people on Monday, September 9th, for operating a meth lab and breaking into a vacant home to set up their operation.

The owners of the Lake Murray home reportedly do not live there full time, so the house was unoccupied at the time of the break-in. A relative of the family that owns the home reported that people were in the home when it should have been vacant. When officers from the Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Team arrived at the supposedly-unoccupied home around 8:30 PM, they discovered four people in the residence, along with waste from a meth lab.

Three men and one woman were arrested on drug charges for operating the meth lab, along with second-degree burglary: Darwin Jason Ciesielski, 43, of 181 Benjamin Drive, Lexington; Kimberly Elaine Kinney, 30, of 4849 Highway 41 South, Marion; Charles Brandon Linton, 23, of 1364 Devils Backbone Road, Leesville; and Cody Edward Shealy, 22, of 255 Rawls Drive, Batesburg-Leesville. The suspects are waiting for bond hearings on their meth lab charges in the Lexington County Detention Center.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone with knowledge of meth labs or other illegal drug activity to contact the sheriff’s department at (803) 785-8230, or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIMESC.

Lexington County Continues Successful Campaign of Drug Busts on Meth Labs Throughout the County

Lexington County law enforcement officers announced, last fall, that they would begin a campaign to round up criminals who manufactured and distributed drugs, especially methamphetamines. Operations began in October 2012, with at least 13 reported arrests related to meth labs in Lexington County. Throughout January, officers arrested several more suspects for operating meth labs in West Columbia and Lexington.
