Illegal Search and Seizure Leads to Dismissal of Drug Charges

South Carolina Felony Drug Possession Charges

Police have dropped drug charges against Courtney Wagner, the daughter of Natalie Wood, after concluding that she was arrested for illegal drugs recovered from an illegal search and seizure.

Police discovered the illegal drugs after responding to a call which led them to the home. According to reports, Ms. Wagner’s neighbors called police after hearing yelling and gun shots.

While at Ms. Wagner’s Malibu home, police also found cocaine and heroin.

Ms. Wagner was arrested and charged with felony drug possession. After being arrested for felony drug possession, she was released on bond after posting a $10,000 bail. The man in the home was also arrested for negligent discharge of a firearm. It is not known if the case against him has also been dismissed.

According to L.A. County District Attorney , “Deputies did not have probably cause, consent, nor a warrant to conduct the search and recover narcotics so as a result the case is being rejected because of illegal search and seizure.”
