What is “Meow Meow”?

Before the “bath salts” craze there was a similar Generic cialis without prescription drug that sparked controversy called, “meow meow”.

“Meow meow” took the British drug scene by storm. “Meow meow’s” technical name was Mephedrone, but was referred to on the streets as “meow meow”, “plant food”, “bubble” or “drone”. Mepherone is a synthetic stimulant drug. It is classified as an amphetamine and cathinone and is referred to as a “chemical cousin” to bath salts.

Like bath salts, the drug was legally sold in stores and online throughout Britain. It wasn’t until the death of a 14 year old girl, Gabi Price, that the drug became spotlighted. This is eerily similar to the case of Rudy Eugene, the “Miami Cannibal”, who allegedly was under the influence of bath salts at the time of the attack. The attack heightened concerns over bath salts, and has lead to a push by many cities and states to ban the drug. There has also been a major push to ban the drug nationally.

The effects of “meow meow” include severe nose bleeds, nose burns, hallucinations, blood circulation problems, rashes, anxiety, paranoia, fits, delusion and even ultimately, a heart attack. Similarly the effects of bath salts, also known legally as methylenedioxypyrovalerone (MDPV), include hallucinations, psychosis, agitation, suicidal thoughts, chest pains, high blood pressure and rapid heartbeat.

The media firestorm surrounding bath salts is similar to the coverage “meow meow” received after Gabi Price’s death. Ms. Price’s death was later found to be caused by a streptococcal infection, but not before the media jumped on the “meow meow” train and made the innocent 14 year old girl out to be a drug abuser. The coroner has yet to release the details surrounding Rudy Eugene’s death. It is alleged that he was under the influence of bath salts, but nothing has been proven yet.
