Home-Based Meth Lab Busted, Woman Arrested for Child Endangerment and Drug Charges
Jamie Williams Greenlee, 37, was arrested and charged with manufacturing meth in the presence of a child, along with manufacturing methamphetamines and unlawfully altering pseudoephedrine.
On Friday, March 28th, officers executed the meth lab search warrant on Greenlee’s home in Pelion, SC. While they did not find an active meth lab, police found components for a meth lab, which they disassembled for safety and arrested Greenlee.
Officers also found an 8-year-old boy, whose name will not be released to protect the minor, who was removed from the home and transported by the Department of Social Services to a local hospital so a physician could make sure the child was physically unharmed.
Greenlee was taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. Her bail was set at $30,000.

Child Endangerment Laws and Meth Lab Drug Charges in South Carolina
Child endangerment occurs when an adult, whether a parent or caregiver, places a child in a dangerous situation that is inappropriate or could cause them harm. Child endangerment is not exactly the same thing as child abuse since it doesn’t involve directly causing harm, but still carries stiff penalties and possible prison time.
Being accused of child endangerment can have lasting effects on your professional and personal life, even if you are found innocent. Because of this, it’s important that you hire an attorney that can defend your rights.
Child endangerment includes both placing a child in physical danger and exposing a child to dangerous or illegal adult situations. Including:
- Caregivers driving under the influence
- Exposing children to illegal drug use
- Exposing children to meth lab operations or dangerous chemicals
- Exposing children to firearms
- Failing to use proper safety restraints
- Pornography
- Domestic Violence
When child endangerment charges are added to drug charges, like operating a meth lab, you can face very serious penalties like long jail sentences and huge fines.
