Lexington County Officials Bust A Clandestine Meth Lab While Three People Were Asleep in the Home
The Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET) arrested three people on Wednesday, May 15th, for owning and operating a clandestine meth lab in their home.
Arrested were 32-year-old William Christopher Brown, 39-year-old William Thomas Morgan, and 25-year-old Crystal Marie Rackley. They have been charged with operating a meth lab.
A tip to the sheriff’s department led officers to the home on Old Orangeburg Road near Lexington. Around 3:51 AM, deputies arrived and immediately smelled a strong chemical odor, which is typically associated with meth labs.
According to reports, deputies noticed that the house was very hazy when they entered it. The chemical odor grew stronger further into the house.
Officers found the three suspects asleep in a bedroom. When they searched a backpack in the room, they found a reaction vessel that was actively being used to create methamphetamine. They also found two smaller reaction vessels in the home, along with some other items used to manufacture the drug.
Brown, Morgan, and Rackley were all arrested on drug charges for the meth lab operation. They are being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
