North Charleston Drug Dealer Sentenced to 25 Years on Trafficking Charges
Charles Tramane Myers was found guilty on October 8th for charges of trafficking in cocaine third-offense, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana first-offense. Myers has past convictions for drug trafficking and possession, which led to the judge’s decision to sentence him to prison for 25 years.
Myers has also previously been convicted for resisting arrest, possession of cocaine and crack cocaine, unlawful carrying of a firearm, possession of a stolen vehicle, giving false information to police, and trafficking charges forCharleston Drug Dealer Finally Sentenced to Prison for Trafficking Chargers cocaine.
The sentencing comes from an arrest made in October 2012. In July of that year, police received an anonymous tip that Myers, already well-known to Charleston police, had moved his operation into North Charleston. Narcotics investigators began an undercover surveillance operation outside of the reported house, and for two months of investigating, Myers was seen entering and leaving the home at all times of day, frequently leaving to make street-level narcotics deals.
After gathering evidence, on October 26th, 2012, North Charleston Police executed a search warrant on the home. Prosecutors said that police officers immediately found Myers inside a vehicle parked near the home, smoking marijuana. Inside the vehicle, officers found a digital scale, marijuana, a marijuana grinder, and baggies of drugs, which indicated that Myers was still trafficking drugs.
Inside the house, investigators found 31.9 grams of cocaine, and 170 grams of marijuana, which was enough to issue trafficking charges.
Myers reportedly admitted to police officers that the cocaine and marijuana were his.
