Columbia police say that, after a routine traffic stop, they found nearly 25 pounds of marijuana, as well as two pistols and about $1,000 in cash. The two men in the vehicle have been arrested for drug crimes.

Officers estimate that the large amount of marijuana is worth about $40,000.

Antonie Terrell Parker and Roger Rivers were arrested for drug crimes, including trafficking marijuana, transporting narcotics in a motor vehicle, and possession of a pistol during commission of a violent crime.

The Columbia Police Department made the drug crimes arrests based on a tip they received that drugs were being transported on a commercial Greyhound bus between Atlanta, GA and Columbia, SC.

Allegedly, Parker picked Rivers up at the bus station on Gervais Street. They were about a mile away when Columbia police pulled them over. A K9 unit found the drugs wrapped in several layers of plastic wrap.

The two are currently being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
