On Tuesday, October 1st, Lexington County Multi-Agency Narcotics Enforcement Team officers seized a meth lab being operated in a home in Pelion, SC. Two women were arrested on drug charges.

Jessica Nicole Ellison, 31, from West Columbia, and Mindy Angela Proctor, 28, of Pelion, were arrested on charges of possessing methamphetamine. Proctor, who owned the home in which the meth lab was being operated, was also charged with manufacturing methamphetamines.

At almost 2 PM on Tuesday, deputies from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detected a strong chemical odor, usually associated with meth labs and meth manufacturing, coming from Proctor’s home. When they investigated, they found a small device inside a trash can that is commonly used for manufacturing meth, and they also found methamphetamines. Narcotics officers arrived on the scene after officers requested assistance with the meth lab, and determined that the operation was in fact a meth lab. Ellison and Proctor were arrested.
